Wishing a quick and complete recovery to the all victims of
the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in 2024.
At 16:10 on 1 January 2024, there was a magnitude 7.6 (preliminary) earthquake in the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
Many roads are reported to be sinking or collapsing. Rescue operations in the affected areas have been delayed because of these problems.
We wish our deepest sympathies to all people who are staying at home or in shelters in the cold winter days.
We also pray for you to rebuild the region with great strength.
In order to preserve this precious Taya Cave for the next generation,
we are engaged in various activities
to "coexist with the local environment and the local community for the future.

Chuo University Lecture
In the lecture on information space modeling at Chuo University, I gave a lecture on the practice of educational outreach of digital information that was carried out by Taya's activities.

Saitama University Excursion
A total of 24 civil engineering students from Saitama University visited the cave. In the afternoon, we had the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and a JV contractor guide us to the tunnel construction site using a big shield machine in the neighborhood.

Regional Survey on Taya area
We cooperated in a regional survey on the coexistence of underground built heritage such as Taya Cave and the region as "Creative Project Exercise C for Creating the Future with Regions and Companies" of Japan Women's University.

University of Tsukuba cave patrol
Students from the Ogura Assistant Professor's laboratory of the University of Tsukuba came to visit the Taya cave, so I guided them. A survey by Associate Professor Oguchi of Saitama University was also conducted in parallel, and the professor of Saitama University conducted experimental training for students of the University of Tsukuba.

Yokohama City Cultural Properties Division + Experts Visiting Cave
People from the Yokohama City Board of Education Lifelong Learning Cultural Property Division who moved in April visited the TAYA cave and confirmed the activities of the Preservation Executive Committee. We have received cooperation in various situations so far.

Tokyo Gakugei University
Research Works on Taya Cave
In the practice class of Tokyo Gakugei University, we cooperated in twice on-site trainings on the geological weathering of the Taya Cave. The students conducted on-site training such as CO2 measurement, nondestructive strength test, and water quality examination.

Kumon Kokusai Gakuen ~ High 1 Modern Society Special Class 2 ~
In the second class at Kumon Kokusai Gakuen, I talked about a cross-disciplinary context, "Why did this conservation activity begin?". "What is nature?" "What is a city?" We cooperated with the practice class of Associate Professor Oguchi of Saitama University. Due to the immigration restrictions of covid-19 by the Japanese government, we held a live broadcast lesson from inside the cave for international students who cannot come to Japan and students who cannot move in Japan. At the request of a teacher at the science club teacher at Yokohama City Taisho Junior High School, we introduced a basic survey from a multidisciplinary integrated scientific perspective on TAYA cave preservation activities. There were many questions about the ground and geology, and I felt it would be good if I could do a collaborative survey with the Taisho Junior High School Science Club.
