Wishing a quick and complete recovery to the all victims of
the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in 2024.
At 16:10 on 1 January 2024, there was a magnitude 7.6 (preliminary) earthquake in the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
Many roads are reported to be sinking or collapsing. Rescue operations in the affected areas have been delayed because of these problems.
We wish our deepest sympathies to all people who are staying at home or in shelters in the cold winter days.
We also pray for you to rebuild the region with great strength.

In 2017, a contact for invitation of joint research on the utilization of underground cultural properties came from Italy to the messenger in the Taya cave Facebook. We received a grant from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) on bilateral joint research with the application of Associate Professor Oguchi of Saitama University. We have been conducting joint research with the Italian National Research Council (Cnr) for two years from 2018 under the theme of "Damage assessment and conservation of underground space as valuable resources for human activities use in Italy and Japan".
What is bilateral joint research? About IBCR
Bilateral joint research is International Bilateral Collaboration Research (hereinafter referred to as "" IBCR " ).
This international joint research is one of the research grant projects by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (hereinafter referred to as " JPSS"). We carry out various academic international exchanges with academies and academic research councils in other countries.
Associate Professor Oguchi of Saitama University is the representative applicant for this preservation society, and has been conducting international joint research with the Italian National Research Council / Mediterranean Society Research Center (hereinafter, "Cnr / ISMed") since 2018.
